As a denizen of Bhubaneswar, and growing up in the Infocity square, for many reasons this is a captivating topic for me to write my first blog.

Infocity square gives the understanding of the urban area where we can say TODAY MEETS TOMORROW. It is present in the capital city of Odisha. It’s a mini city within the city of Bhubaneswar.

Infocity was conceived as a five-star park, under the Export Promotion Industrial Parks (EPIP) Scheme to create infrastructure facilities for setting up information technology related industries. Its presence is since early 1990s in Bhubaneswar.

Let me give you a small introduction on our landmark Bhubaneswar before we move to the topic of the blog. Bhubaneswar…a city that has so much to offer when it comes to taking some time off work and comforting with friends, family or enjoying some “me time”. Bhubaneswar is the capital of Odisha, the name of the capital came from “Tribhubaneswara” or “Bhubaneswara” (literally “Lord of the Earth”), a name of God Shiva, the deity of the Lingaraja temple.

Bhubaneswar is a pleasant juxtaposition of cultures i.e., from Hindu temples like Puri & Konark temples, to centuries old Buddhist pagodas to rock-cut Jain shelters co-exist peacefully along with the modern touch of extensive city squares, shopping centres, malls, movie theatre chains and international food hubs in this smart city.

Coming to Infocity square, it’s is a small neighbourhood and a part of Chandrasekharpur area in the city of Bhubaneswar. Chandrasekharpur is named after Chandrasekhar Mahadev Temple in Patia, a centuries-old temple.

Apart from this ease of doing business is also essential which our Govt. Of Odisha is hugely committed upon.

CTTC- In the present scenario of industrialization; particularly in the engineering field, requirements of specialized tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, moulds, gauges and other precision components are indispensable. Central Tool Room & Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar is one of such training, production, design and consultancy centre established in technical cooperation programme between Govt. of India & Govt. of Denmark to meet the above requirements.

CIPET – Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering & Technology (CIPET) (formerly known as Central Institute of Plastics Engineering & Technology (CIPET)) was established in 1968 by Government of India with the assistance of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) at Chennai. The main objective of setting up of this specialized institute was to develop manpower in different disciplines of Plastics Engineering & Technology as no similar institute was in existence in the country.

Start up Hub In Infocity Square

To promote the startup ecosystem, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated a start-up incubation centre named ‘O-Hub’ (Odisha Hub) near Infocity square or Chandaka to be precise,on Dec 20 2021. The hub aims to mobilise start-up investments to the tune of Rs 100 crore per year. The state aims to have more than 5000 startups by the year 2025

The state government supported incubation hub is located in the Bhubaneswar Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Patia with 1,50,000 square feet area in plug- n-play mode.

In Odisha any blog/meeting/function cannot end without adding food in the menu of to do list. So here we go…. Apart from big food chains like Dominos, Burger king, Pizza hut, KFC or WOW Momos what seem to be dominating in Infocity square is food trucks. It gives you a reason to come out of your house to satiate the foodie in you.

The best part of the food truck is the variety of foods from Indian to continental to Mughlai probably everything that’s on your mind is available here on the wheels. The culture started in Rural America is dominating the Indian food market now.So if you visit Infocity square make sure to stop by…and thank me later.
