The Taratarini Temple is one of the four Adi Shaktipeethas in India. the temple situated atop the Kumari hills at the bank of the River Rushikulya near Berhampur city in Ganjam District. 30 kilometers away from Berhampur. The height of the hill is approximately 708 feet. And the total area is spread over 180 acres of land. Tara and Tarini are twin goddesses. The twin goddesses are worshiped by Adi Shakti as manifestations. The age-old rite of ‘Mundan’ also takes place at the temple, where newborn babies’ hair is shaved from their heads in the idea that the goddess Tara Tarini will protect them from evils.

Tampara Lake

Tampara is a freshwater wetland situated in Chattarpur block of the Ganjam district on the National Highway 5, along the east coast of Odisha State. The freshwater wetland covers an area of 300 ha. It was declared a Ramsar site in 2022. This place is situated about 30 kilometers from the city of Berhampur. over Rs eight crore as the Berhampur Development Authority (BeDA) has finalized additional infrastructure projects at the tourist destination. The projects will be taken up under the ‘Swadesh Darshan’ scheme of the Centre. It supports at least 60 bird species, 46 fish species, 48 phytoplankton species, and over seven terrestrial plant and macrophyte species.
